Based on this fantastic Mr. Krabs cake entry on Food Network’s Spongebob cake challenge, Lauren Kitchens is possibly the most talented sugar artist we’ve ever seen. Okay, we’re biased because of our love of all things Spongebob. Still, check out her blog.
Yes, that’s Appa from “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” a serving of beautiful sushi, and a Canon in cake form. Sugar artist Ann Sumimoto makes cake look so cool you almost don’t want to eat them. Almost. We found Sumimoto’s work through a mutual friend on Facebook who told us that not only do her cakes look incredible, they taste delicious. Amazingly, Sumimoto currently doesn’t make a living at this, she does it for fun. She’s considering going pro in Honolulu, but needs a gentle nudge.
