I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, art today is very much the process and where the humanity lies within it. With technology able to produce incredible spectacles, the wonder and delight of art lies in the human sweat and artistry involved. This may be a public display to promote a Brazilian shoemaker, but you can’t deny the artistry involved. 350,000 Post It notes and 25 animators. Incredible. Don’t forget the “making of” video.
While I watch Naomie Ross‘ video, I think “I LOVE the skill and knowledge involved as well as the tactile quality of a press,” but the first thought I have at the end is, “Wow, that’s a lot of trouble.” In any case, this is wonderfully shot and edited. Definitely check her other videos out as well.
Whether you know the movie or not, you have to admire this Constantine Zippo. Don’t smoke? Who cares? All this for heat for a cool $149 (and your soul). What bargain!

Chalk letterer Dana Tanamachi no doubt spent a lot of time after school writing “I will not…” sentences on the chalk board a la Bart Simpson. If you ask yourself “‘Chalk letterer’ is a thing?” then I’m with you. (And yes, it apparently is!) However, if you ask “what’s a chalk board?” then I suggest you GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU DARN KID!
