Yes, that’s Appa from “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” a serving of beautiful sushi, and a Canon in cake form. Sugar artist Ann Sumimoto makes cake look so cool you almost don’t want to eat them. Almost. We found Sumimoto’s work through a mutual friend on Facebook who told us that not only do her cakes look incredible, they taste delicious. Amazingly, Sumimoto currently doesn’t make a living at this, she does it for fun. She’s considering going pro in Honolulu, but needs a gentle nudge. Those are awesome! I would love to have a cake like that…but, you know, maybe not quite so pretty so I wouldn’t feel so bad about eating it!
You could shoot this over to the folks at Cake Wrecks. Not because the cakes are wrecky, but because they do a Sunday Sweets edition, where they feature totally awesome, non-wrecky cakes. :)
